2-2 Continuation

Two directional bars the same way: the trend took the prior bar's extreme again.

A directional bar followed by a break of its extreme in the same direction. Buyers took the prior high and then took the next one too (or sellers did it on the lows).

It is TheStrat's plain momentum statement. The engine also uses this name for the with-trend break of a 3-2 or 1-2 pullback bar, because 3-2-2 and 1-2-2 are reversal-only names.

Bullish

FAQ

What is a bullish 2-2 Continuation?

2u, then the break of that 2u's high.

What is a bearish 2-2 Continuation?

2d, then the break of that 2d's low.

How are 2-2 Continuation alerts graded?

Each alert carries an entry, a stop and target 1 when it fires. It counts as a win if price reaches target 1 before the stop and a loss if the stop trades first; one 15-minute bar touching both counts as a loss. Alerts stay open until one of them happens.

Other patterns

How grading works: every break alert carries an entry, a stop and target 1 when it fires. An alert counts as a win if price reaches target 1 before the stop and a loss if the stop trades first; if one 15-minute bar touches both, it counts as a loss. Alerts stay open until one of them happens. Examples shown here are the most recent resolved alerts at least 7 days old, wins and losses alike. Live alerts and today's levels are for members.
